South Indian style Sambhar masala


 Ingredients:

½ cup dry coriander seeds 

2 tbsp chana dal (split chickpeas or bengal gram split) 

2 tbsp urad daal (black gram)

2 tbsp tuvar daal(split pigeon pea)

12 dry red chili 

1 tbsp black paper 

2 to 3 cinnamon sticks 

2 tbsp curry leaves 

1 tbsp mustard seeds  

1 tbsp cumin seeds 

¼ tbsp methi dana (fenugreek seeds)

½ tbsp hing (asafoetida) 

1 tbsp turmeric powder 

Method:

•   Take a pan.

•   First we roast  coriander seeds on low flame .

•   then roast all daal ,cumin seeds &fenugreek seeds on low flame.

•   Then we have to roast mustard seeds, curry leaves, cinnamon, black paper, dry red chilli &hing.

•   Allow it to cool completely. 

•   Transfer it to mixer grinder & add turmeric powder .

•   Our sambhar masala is ready to use.

Note: ☆Do not use oil for roasting. 

           ☆Turmeric powder is optional.
